Carl Garvin, age 95, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Boynton Beach, Florida. Born on January 6, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Carl's journey through life was marked by stalwart integrity.
Carl was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve A. (Ferrara), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He is survived by his daughter Catherine G. Fillman and her husband Donald of Sandwich, MA, his sons Carl J. Garvin and his wife Deborah of Panama City Beach, FL, Jack L. Garvin and his partner Linda Barcelo of Wrentham, MA and Keith G. Garvin of Boynton Beach, FL.
He was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren Caitlin and her husband Patrick, Chelsea, Anna, David and his wife Hannah, Jack W., Andy, Brian and his wife Jennifer, and Betty Jean and her husband Gary. His great grandchildren, Wyatt, Anna, Ben, Carlee, Cole and Gigi brought joy to the later years in his life.
Enlisting in the U.S. Army at the age of 18 was the beginning of an illustrious career that spanned over two decades retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer II. His contributions to the field of Army Intelligence were significant and a source of great pride. With several posts worldwide, he enjoyed the sights of numerous countries with his wife,
Genevieve, and children. He began a second career with Honeywell during the dawn of the computer age, completed his BA with Honors at Northeastern and with dedication and expertise as a Program Manager, retired as a Senior Analyst.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Carl was an avid golfer, relishing the green fairways and the camaraderie of fellow golfers, playing bridge, reading and watching WWII documentaries.
Carl was a quiet and respected man and having led an accomplished life is now at peace with his wife Genevieve.
Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Sunday March 16th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home Monday morning March 17th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne Monday at 1:45 pm.
