Bernard J. Lynch IV, aged 63, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family. As a lifelong resident of Milton, Bernard, known affectionately as Bernie to his friends and family, left a lasting impression on all who knew him with his infectious humor and selfless nature.
Born to the late Marion and Bernard J. Lynch III, Bernie grew up in a warm and loving home that set the foundation for the incredible man he would become. He was the cherished husband of Ellenmarie Lynch (O'Donnell), with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring love story.
Bernie was the proud father of Michael Lynch of Dorchester, Matthew Lynch and his wife Jeanette of E. Bridgewater, and Charlotte Lynch of Jamaica Plain. He was a doting grandfather to Vivienne Lynch, who was the apple of his eye. Bernie was predeceased by his son, Christopher Lynch, whose spirit continued to shine in Bernie’s compassionate actions. Bernie is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graduate of Milton High School, Bernie was known for his kindness, adventurous spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a rock to many he knew him. He worked for 24 years as a skilled fire alarm electrician with Fire Systems Technology. Bernie's colleagues knew him as a very dedicated man whose passion and commitment to his job defined his legacy as a man of respect and wit.
Bernie could often be found driving around town in his Bronco and enjoyed cross country road trips to visit family and friends. An avid amateur radio enthusiast, Bernie made connections across the airwaves and continents, sharing stories and laughter with fellow operators from all walks of life. To say that Bernie was simply 'loved' would be an understatement; he was adored by all who were lucky enough to cross in his path.
Bernie lived a life full of love, laughter, and selfless acts. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with the same joy and generosity that he so effortlessly embodied. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we also say thank you for the happiness and care he brought into our lives. Bernie will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light to his family and friends.
