Barbara Ann Lydon

Barbara Ann Lydon, age 96, of Milton, formerly of Dorchester passed away March 7th.  Born and raised in Dorchester, she graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School and attended Bryant & Stratton.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Boston Public Schools for many years before retiring.  For many years Barbara ran the Boston Science Fair for the Boston Public Schools and she was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church in Milton where she was a member of the church choir.  For many years she enjoyed summering in Rockport.   

Beloved daughter of the late Philip F. Lydon and Hannah Keady Lydon.  Sister of the late Mary M. “Peggy” Lydon.  Cousin of Mary Martin of Holbrook, Philip Lydon of Middleboro, Barbara Hogan of Walpole, Ann McKenna of Harwich, and Kathleen Riley of Quincy.  Also survived by a large extended family and many friends.  Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Church Milton Saturday morning at 11:30.  Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Saturday morning prior to the mass from 9:30 to 11:00 am.  Burial New Calvary Cemetery.  Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assn at www.alz.org.
