Barbara Ann Balfe passed away peacefully at her home on May 27, 2024 at the age of (29  :) LOL). Born on June 21, 1937, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Barbara was a lifelong resident of Milton who cherished her home and family. She was the beloved wife of James Patrick Balfe, with whom she shared an enduring 63 years of marriage.

Barbara’s life was one marked by devotion to her family and an unwavering commitment to creating a warm home. She was a graduate of Randolph High School and began her working career as a telephone operator with New England Telephone where she met Jimmy Balfe. She loved flowers and each year adorned her porch with beautiful big flowers which were a showstopper for those passing by. You could always count on her and Jimmy to be sitting on the front porch on summer nights with an extra chair always ready to welcome a neighbor stopping by for a visit.

She is survived by her adoring husband, James, and their three children: Karen Rist and her husband Thomas of South Weymouth, Jim Balfe and his wife Delia of Marstons Mills, and Tricia Healey and her husband Steve of Sunapee, NH. Barbara’s legacy continues with her grandchildren. Michael and Stephen Doneghey, Patrick Balfe, and Ryan Healey, who will carry forward her spirit of fun and laughter.

Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave on Friday May 31 from 9:30 – 11:30 am. A service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 am by Father Bennett. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery.
