Arthur Erwin Obituary

Arthur Thomas Erwin, age 101, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary L. Erwin, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Born in Milton, MA, Arthur was the son of Arthur H. and Madeline (Gallagher) Erwin. Arthur graduated from Milton High School, Class of 1939. From there he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired with the rank of sergeant after 10 years of dedicated service, including the USMC Reserve. He had a great love for his country and was very proud to be a Marine.

He was employed as a salesman and worked for many truck body dealerships in New England. Arthur loved being on the road and meeting people at every stop.

Arthur loved meeting new people and his laugh was infectious. He enjoyed the New England Patriots, classic movies, boating, music, and especially, travelling to Bermuda with Mary. He was known for his long winded and often off-color jokes and his love of dogs.

Arthur had no children of his own. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and his old pals Mark Sills and Caitlin Speck. Arthur was predeceased by his brother Richard G. Erwin and Sister Mary Madeline Erwin. Funeral Mass Saturday, at St. Elizabeth Church Milton 10:00 am. Burial Blue Hill Cemetery.
