Antoinette M. Cook (née Del Rosso), a cherished beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, MA, Antoinette's life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and unwavering care for others.
Antoinette was the beloved wife of the late John H. Cook for fifty eight years. She was the devoted mother to John H. Cook and his wife Meredith of Milton, Mary J. Lee and her husband Joseph of Braintree, Richard M. Cook and his wife Gina of N.C., and Philip N. Cook and his wife Gisela of Quincy. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Sam, Jack, Henry, Bailey, and Harrison, who will remember her for her warmth and the joy she brought to their lives.
Antoinette's early years were shaped by her education at Dorchester High for Girls, followed by her diligent studies at the Carney Hospital School of Nursing. Her career was marked by a profound commitment to helping others, working as a Registered Nurse at Carney Hospital, extending her care through private nursing, and eventually retiring from the Frank Wood Nursing Home in Dorchester. Her professional life was a reflection of her innate desire to offer comfort and healing to those in need.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Antoinette was known for her boundless creativity. Her artistic talents were evident in her love for making crafts, quilting, painting, and crafting beautiful bracelets. Antoinette's creative spirit was just another facet of her generous nature, as she often shared her handmade creations with loved ones and supported many charities.
Antoinette was predeceased by her three sisters, Anna Masciovecchio, Gina Degnan, and Angela Park, along with their husbands, Joseph, Paul, and Vernon, respectively, as well as her sister in law, Justine and husband Leo Flanagan. She leaves behind her brother in law, Brother Richard Cook CFX, as well as many nieces and nephews. These relationships were founded on mutual respect and affection, values that Antoinette learned from her parents, Josephine and Mauro Del Rosso.
Those who knew Antoinette will remember her as the embodiment of kindness and generosity. She approached life with a gentle strength and a compassionate heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of support. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to “Toni”, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were touched by her love and kindness, and her spirit will live on in the many lives she enriched.
