Annemarie Haug Obituary

Annemarie Haug passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. Born in the village of Libouchec, Czech Republic, Annemarie's journey has been one of strength, courage, generosity of spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved, and her departure has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

Annemarie's early years in the Czech Republic were marked by resilience and a tenacity for survival as she navigated the challenges of wartime Europe. Arriving in America after the war, Annemarie embarked on a new chapter in life where she found her calling in the world of numbers and ledgers. For many years, she served as a bookkeeper at Milton Hospital.

Annemarie's selfless nature extended beyond her family and personal passions. She dedicated countless hours as a volunteer, offering a compassionate ear and support to those in need through the Suicide Prevention Hotline and the AIDS Action Committee. Her ability to listen, empathize, and offer words of encouragement was a source of hope and strength for many.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Annemarie was a lifelong learner. She enjoyed educating herself about the history of New England, and the world, by visiting the locations history has been made. She also took any opportunity she could to be out in nature, which is where she found her solace.

Those who knew Annemarie will remember her for the laughter that came easily, the friendship she offered generously, and the selflessness with which she approached all aspects of her being . Her legacy is one of love and a life lived fully and with purpose. Her story carries on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, and her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us in the days to come.

Annemarie is now reunited with her late sister Margaret Schoeps of Neuss, Germany, and survived by her son, Ethan N. Hill of Brooklyn, NY.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday the 29th of June at 1000 Southern Artery, Quincy, MA, East Building, Public Room. All are welcome.
