Anne Metrick, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly on June 13, 2025. Anne left a legacy of kindness, generosity, intellect, and love. She was the cherished wife of the late Michael J. Metrick and the devoted mother of Julie D. Katta of Bedford and her husband Anilkumar Katta of Bedford.
Anne's greatest joy was found in her family, especially her 3.5-year-old grandson, Nishant, who brought endless smiles and laughter into her life. Her sweet dog, Lexie, was also a constant companion.
She is survived by her favorite cousin Kathleen McCarthy of Milton. Also survived by her siblings, John F. Dynan and his late wife Elizabeth of Pembroke, Maureen Mannix and her husband Dennis of Chatham, Janet Craven and her husband John of Milton, Christine Lynch and her husband Robert of Hanover, Robert Dynan and his wife Diane of Braintree, and she was predeceased by her brother Thomas Dynan.
Anne was a lifelong scholar and a trailblazer in educational technology. After graduating from St. Gregory's High School, she earned her BA from Emmanuel College and later a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Lesley College in Cambridge. Her impressive professional journey saw her serve as a dedicated teacher and technology director in the Stoughton Public Schools, before continuing her work at Austin Prep School in Reading and the Catholic Schools of Boston. Anne's leadership culminated in her role as Executive Director of the Notre Dame Education Center in South Boston, where she undoubtedly made a lasting impact.
In her well-deserved retirement, Anne embraced new passions. She was an avid golfer and found great pleasure in playing and teaching Mahjong and Canasta in her beloved communities of Stonebridge and at the West Dennis Yacht Club. Her generous spirit also led her to volunteer at the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, Florida, reflecting her continued desire to give back.
Anne will be profoundly missed by her family and a wide circle of friends who were touched by her kindness and vibrant spirit.
