Ann H. (Haddad) Bortolotti Obituary
Ann H. Bortolotti, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Born to the late Fayes Haddad and Helen (Oun), she was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of all who knew her. Ann's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her passion for the arts, and her kind-hearted spirit.
Ann graduated from Quincy High School, where she first discovered her love for performance. Her talent was undeniable, and at the tender age of 18, she won a contest that led to a week-long engagement at the Beachcomber in Quincy. It was there, amidst the lights and music, that she met Warren R. Bortolotti, the love of her life. Although their time together was cut short by Warren's passing in 1963, their love story continued to inspire Ann throughout her life. She never remarried, carrying the memory of Warren in her heart always.
Ann's professional life was as vibrant as her personality. She worked in classified sales for the Boston Globe for over 20 years, where she was known for her ability to connect with people. But it was the stage that truly called to her. Ann was a gifted entertainer, creating and performing in musical pantomimes that brought laughter and light to many. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she often lent her talents to producing and directing high school plays and musicals.
Her passion for the arts was only matched by her commitment to her faith and community. For nine years, Ann taught CCD to exceptional children at St. Elizabeth’s, sharing her faith and love with the next generation. She was also deeply involved in the St. Elizabeth’s CYO, where she produced minstrel variety shows and organized trips and activities that brought joy and camaraderie to the group.
Ann was a matriarch in every sense of the word, raising her children—Helene Baxter and her husband David of Hanover, Robert Bortolotti and his wife Stacy of Plymouth, Gail Bortolotti and her husband John of South Easton, and the late Richard Bortolotti—with grace and resilience. She was a proud grandmother to Angelique, Katrina, James, Taylor, Nicole, Christina, Robbie, and Emma, and a doting great-grandmother to Alexandra, Caroline, Ashlyn, Ryan, and Savannah. Her love extended to her sibling, Terri Robinson of Washington D.C., and she fondly remembered her late siblings Fred, Genevieve, and Marion Haddad.
Ann's love for life was evident in everything she did. She cherished her family above all, finding joy in hosting gatherings, cooking delicious meals, and sharing stories. Her home was always filled with music, laughter, and the patter of dog paws, as she adored her canine companions. A classy lady through and through, Ann's elegance shone in her every act and gesture.
Those who knew Ann will remember her as loving, kind, and faith-filled. She touched countless lives with her warmth, her generosity, and her infectious enthusiasm for life. Ann H. Bortolotti's legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she brightened with her spirit. Her light, though no longer present on this earth, continues to shine in the memories of those she loved.
