Alisa Laubenstein Obituary
Alisa Laubenstein, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on December 20, 2024, at Mass General Hospital. Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, Alisa was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Raised in Milton, Massachusetts, Alisa graduated from Milton High School in the Class of 1973, demonstrating early on her dedication to serving others. She continued her journey of care and compassion at the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, where she completed her studies in 1976. Alisa's innate nurturing spirit led her to a distinguished career in nursing. She devoted her professional life to the well-being of others, working as a Registered Nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Malden Hospital, and later extending her care to the community through Apria Home Health.
Alisa's warmth extended far beyond her professional life. She was the loving mother of James Laubenstein of Hanson, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness. Alisa was also the beloved sister of Lynn Ouellette and her fiancé Woody Burri of Melrose, whose bonds were fortified by countless cherished memories. As an aunt, she showered Benjamin Ouellette and his wife Camila of Florida, as well as Daniel Ouellette and his fiancé Adriana Petitpas of Malden, with affection and guidance, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Alisa was sister-in-law to Keith and Doreen Laubenstein of Wrentham, Robert and Dianne Laubenstein of Foxboro, Anthony and Jane D’Amico of Wrentham, Brian and Tricia of Alabama, and Pamela Highlands of Florida. Aunt to Nicole Magnussen (Kevin) of Milford, Deana Shea (Greg) of Wrentham, Taryn Laubenstein of Washington DC, Taylor Pacciti (Alex) of Mansfield, Nicholas, Andrew, Zachary, and Luke of Wrentham, Caitlin Laubenstein of Boston, and the late Brian Laubenstein of Alabama and the late Charles Highlands of Florida.
Her friends, a broad and diverse circle that spanned the various chapters of her life, will remember Alisa for her unwavering support and the joy she brought to every gathering. A special thanks to so many of her friends, who she cherished, especially Marti Hopkins, Maryanne Bardsley, Karen Fitsmaurice, Terry Howard, Maria Manning, Beth Jordan, Ann Leahy, Marybeth Pepin, Sharon Carlton, and Pam Nee.
Alisa found solace and rejuvenation at the beach, where the rhythm of the waves echoed the tranquility in her heart. An avid reader, she could often be found engrossed in a book, lost in the stories of others even as she continued to write her own. Alisa's two Pugs, Frank and Labatt, were her constant companions, bringing laughter and companionship into her home.
Those who knew Alisa would describe her as the epitome of loving and kind. She approached life with a gentle determination, facing challenges with grace and always prioritizing the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness was not just a trait but a way of being, a philosophy she embodied every single day.
Alisa Laubenstein's journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of a kind heart. Though she has departed from this world, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will forever be cherished and honored by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to feel the warmth of her care.
As we say goodbye to Alisa, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she made our world a brighter, more loving place. Her legacy will live on, not only in the echoes of the waves at her beloved beach or the pages of her favorite books, but in the hearts of everyone she touched with her profound kindness.
