Alice Horigan Obituary

Alice was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Horigan Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Alice's legacy continues through her children: Diane DeCosta of S. Yarmouth, Donald Horigan Jr. of Walpole, Lois Hurley of Weymouth, Jeanette Mello of Hyannis, and she was predeceased by her daughter Donna McHugh. Loving nana/ grammy to 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Her role as a mother was one she held most dear, and her nurturing spirit was a cornerstone of the family.

Throughout her life, Alice was a beacon of dedication and hard work. She was a devoted wife and mother who balanced her family life with a fulfilling career. Alice spent many years at Curry College in Milton, where she contributed to the educational community, and at Business Products Unlimited in Stoughton, where she was highly regarded for her professionalism and kindness. Moreover, her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she sold cosmetics for Avon, a venture that not only spoke to her love for beauty but also allowed her to connect with friends and neighbors.

Family was paramount for Alice, and she found great joy in babysitting her grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. Alice's presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and her ability to create a warm and welcoming home will be fondly remembered.

Alice's zest for life was also evident in her personal interests. She cherished the times spent at Cape Cod with her girlfriends, moments filled with laughter, shared stories, and the simple pleasure of good company by the seaside. These excursions were among her favorite ways to relax and unwind, creating memories that her friends will treasure always.

A woman of deep faith, Alice's gentle spirit was a testament to her belief in kindness and compassion. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and was a source of strength for her and those she loved. The values she upheld were reflected in the way she lived her life and in the positive impact she had on her community.

As we bid farewell to Alice Horigan, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her life was a tapestry of love, service, and grace that was woven into the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on as a guiding light, inspiring us to lead with love, to cherish our loved ones, and to embrace each day with a gentle heart.
