Thomas J O'Connor

Thomas J. O’Connor, age 73 passed away on August 11, 2018 after a brief unexpected illness. Born in Boston, he grew up in Charlestown and was a graduate of St. Catherine’s Parochial School and Edwards High School. He went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from Boston State College and his Masters Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He then attended Stonehill College where he studied to be a Religious Brother in the Holy Cross order. He was employed for many years at Catholic Charities in Brockton. After his retirement he donated his time and many gifts to charities. A friend to all “no one was a stranger to him.” Mr. O’Connor was proud of his family and his Irish heritage. He enjoyed attending Irish Festivals at Stonehill and the Irish Cultural Center. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history above all.

The beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Flynn) O’Connor of Milton, he was the devoted father of Patrick J. O’Connor of Portsmouth, RI and his partner Elizabeth O’Driscoll and Brendan J. O’Connor of Milto, as well as a dear family friend, of Michael Barrett of Milton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at  St. Agatha Church, Milton, Friday morning, August 17, 2018 at 11. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton Thursday, August 16, 2018  from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be private.
