Robert G. McGee Obituary

Quincy - Robert G. McGee (ret. M.F.D.) of Quincy, passed away peacefully his loving family by his side, Nov. 6th. Bobby was born in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School.  He was a 33year member of the Milton Fire Dept., retiring in 1995 and a late member of the Milton Firefighters Union Local #1116.  He loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes, he loved dogs and would talk to any stranger who had a dog. He also was devoted to his family and the Fire Dept.

He was the beloved husband of Irene F. (Jarasitis) of Quincy; devoted father of Robert G. McGee, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Quincy, Christine M. Regan and her husband Mark of Weymouth and Donna L. McGee of Quincy; he was the cherished grandfather of Colleen McGee of Quincy, Caitlin and Jenna Regan of Weymouth; brother of Anne Scoble of Norwood, Richard McGee of Stoughton, his twin sister Jane Teevens of Quincy and Maureen Nazzaro of Milton. He loved and  adored his many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a true friend to all; he would always have an endless supply of index cards for notes and devil dogs to share with everyone. His true calling was the dog whisperer, he would always pull over if he saw a Lab to say hi, give a cookie and show his prized picture of his dogs Brandy and Shelby. His greatest pleasure was in the summer to grow his garden and his prized tomatoes that he would often leave in brown bags on family, friends and neighbor’s porches. Bob loved yard sales and would have one every year with his best friend Bobby Bryon that he would always say he “sold good quality Junk” Bob loved taking pictures and still used throw away cameras and called himself Flash McGee Bob liked to brag that he was 15 minutes younger than his twin sister Jane and he loved spending time with his children. Bob adored his granddaughters and was always with them, he taught Colleen and Caitlin to drive this summer and shared his love of gardening with Jenna teaching her his secrets for the best tomatoes, but most of all Bob loved his wife of 53 years Irene, his favorite time her was the weekends when they would go to lunch every Saturday and then on Sundays to their spot at Newcomb Farms for breakfast and then Kohls for shopping after. Bob was a family man and loved his wife, siblings, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, and friends, he will be truly missed by all!!
