Patrice J. Galvin, age 72, of Canton, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Born in Boston, she grew up in Milton and lived there for many years prior to her move to Canton. A graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, Pat received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Bridgewater State College. She retired from her career as an educator for the Randolph Schools where she worked at the Kennedy Jr. High School, the Donovan School and the Devine School. Pat served as a teacher, as well as an administrator during her career.
Pat was the devoted daughter of the late Jeremiah and Kathleen Galvin, the loving sister of Joseph F. Galvin and his wife Joanne of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Gerald J. Galvin and his wife Mary of Harwich and Robert M. Galvin and his wife Karen of Hanover. Pat cherished her seven nieces and nephews, Kevin, Shannon, Joe, Tom, Michael, Erin and John and enjoyed being an important part of their lives. Pat had a wide circle of friends. She was particularly fond of Pat W, Pat K, Lois and Kelly who were devoted to her. Pat was a member of the Milton Woman’s Club having served as Secretary and President. She was the driving force behind the Habit for Humanity home building project in Stoughton in 2008 and donated many hours to several other charities.
Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Rd., Milton Wednesday June 2019 at 10 am. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Habitat for Humanity of the South Shore, 20 Mathewson Drive, East Weymouth, MA 02189 or the Greater Boston Food Bank, 70 South Bay Ave., Boston, MA
