Marie A. Lewis

Marie A. Lewis of Milton passed away peacefully on Sunday,  August, 11, 2019. A longtime Milton resident, she was born in Boston,  and grew up and was educated in Dorchester. Marie worked for many years for New England Tel. and Tel. Co. and retired from that position after the company had become Nynex. Marie summered on the Cape and enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, figuring out and completing puzzles, watching her Beloved Boston Red Sox and taking her sisters, nieces and nephews on Sunday drives. She will be dearly missed.

Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Duffly) Lewis and dear sister of Rosemary H. Lewis and her twin Marjorie A. Lewis, both of Milton and the late Edith, John, Helen, William, Ruth and Paul Lewis. She is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews: Ann Polemenakos of Lake Jackson, TX, Edith Hughes and Richard DesRoches, both of Quincy, Paul Lewis of Plainville, Gregory Lewis of Mansfield  and the late Susan Lewis, as well as numerous Great Nieces and Nephews : Adam of Needham, Kirsten of Quincy and Jonathan Hughes of Arlington, Elaine and Christos Polemenakos of Lake Jackson, TX , Christina Gaffney also of Lake Jackson, TX, and Brian and Emily Lewis both of Plainville.  She was the Great Great  Aunt of John and Benjamin Doherty, both of Quincy, Malcolm Hughes of Arlington, Emily Hughes of Needham and Reid and Hayes Gaffney. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 4 to 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Pius X Church, Milton, Thursday morning at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.MA
