Margaret M. Dowling (Donnelly), age 94, of Milton formerly of South Boston and Jamaica Plain, passed away December 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, she graduated from Girls High in Boston. She previously lived in South Boston for 50 years before moving to Milton in 2002. Peg worked as a Switchboard Operator for American Telephone and Telegraph and First National Bank (Bank of America) before retiring. While living in South Boston, she was an active member of St. Augustine’s Guild and a member of the Atlantic Street Mothers. Peg enjoyed music, loved to dance, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. For 13 years, Peg and her two sisters wintered on Marco Island with friends from South Boston and were fondly known as “The Sisters”.

Dowling, Jr. of Somerville, Mary (Kane) O’Toole of South Boston, Clare Dowling Bennett of Liverpool, England and Kevin M. Dowling of Marshfield. Grandmother of Elizabeth, Matthew, and Samantha Bondaryk, Joseph Kane, Stephen, Hannah, and Abigail Dowling. Sister of the late Bernard Donnelly, Rita Lahar, and Ann Kilroy. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton Friday morning, December 28, 2018 at 10:00. Burial Newton Cemetery.
