Harold J. McDermott

Harold J. "Harry" McDermott, 92 of Quincy and Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Milton passed away on Monday September 10th at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Boston.  He was a proud Marine Corp Veteran of WW ll.

He worked for the Boston Edison before retiring in 1981.  During retirement he enjoyed a second career in real estate and property management 

He is survived by his loving wife Ruth E. (Farrell) and his children Harold "Jay" McDermott of Quincy, Tracey A. McDermott-Styles (Al Styles) of Hingham.  Father of the late Michael McDermott.  Proud Grandfather of Michael A Styles of Hingham. 

He was the brother of the late Francis and William McDermott and Lillian Coley.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Care Dimensions Hospice and Brigham and Women's Hospital for their overwhelming support.

Viewing has been omitted.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral mass at St. Agatha's Church on Saturday, September 15th, at 11:30 AM with a celebration of life to follow.  Burial service will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Greater Boston Food Bank or a charity of their choice.
