George F. Hitt, age 69, of Milton passed away December 11th at home. Born in Oneonta, NY he graduated from Norwich High School, Hudson Valley Community College, Springfield College and received his Master’s in Health Education from Bridgewater State College. He worked as a Case Manager for South Shore Elder Services in Braintree for many years before retiring. George was an avid runner, and completed many Boston Marathons and several other Marathons throughout the country. He was well known in Milton for running and won many Milton Town Road Races. Beloved husband of Linda (Perrson). Father of Geoff Hitt of Milton and Robert Hitt and his wife Madiha of Morocco. Brother of Douglas Hitt of N.Y., Terry Cunningham of NY, James Hitt of S.C., Lavina Travison of NY, Rosemary Fredrich of PA, Jean Harp of NY, Mary Berkely-Hitt of NY, Donna Bates of NY, John Hitt of NY, Sally Lauletta of NY, Kathy Neilsen of NY and the late Joseph Hitt. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Friday from 5-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home Saturday morning at 11. Burial Milton Cemetery.
