White, Eileen F. (Crawford) of Dorchester passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, she attended St. Margaret’s School and graduated from Girls High in Boston. She worked as a telephone operator at AT&T for many years prior to her retirement. Eileen was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a daily communicant and longtime parishioner of Saint Ambrose Church in Dorchester and a former parishioner of Saint Margaret’s Church in Dorchester. She was a longtime member of the Clam Point Neighborhood Association of which her husband was a founder. Eileen’s father was from Doolin in County Clare and her mother was from Drinagh in West Cork and Eileen treasured her Irish heritage.
Devoted daughter of the late John and Ellen (Keane) Crawford. Beloved wife of the late Francis W. Loving mother of Ellen W. Dowling of Hillsborough, NJ and John J. White of Dorchester. Loving grandmother of Nicole and Sean White, and Kevin and Brendan Dowling. Loving great-grandmother of Joseph White. Dear sister of the late Mary M. O’Neill and Rita C. Crawford. Mother-in-law of Lisa White and Laurence J. Dowling. Loving aunt of the late Eileen F. O'Neill, formerly of Canton, Jeanne Haddad of Plymouth, and Donna Craig of Pembroke. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Avenue, Milton on Monday from 4-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church, 240 Adams Street, Dorchester, Tuesday at 10 am. Burial at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, on Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
