Dorothy A. (Clinton) Doherty

Doherty, Dorothy A. (Clinton) , of Milton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. Born and raised in Framingham, Mrs. Doherty lived in Milton for many years where she raised her loving family. She also summered in Falmouth with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy was educated in the  Framingham Schools  and was a graduate of Framingham State Teacher’s College. In addition to being a loving supportive wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Doherty worked as an Elementary School Teacher in the Framingham and Milton Schools. She also worked for many years as a Real Estate Agent for Ruth McDermott Real Estate in Milton. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Doherty and devoted mother of Donald E. Jr. and his wife Maryjane of Hingham, James L. and his wife Mary Kay of Canton, Maureen A. Ferreira and husband Gary of Marshfield and Ellen M. Wencek and her husband Frank of Hanover. She is also survived by 11 cherished grandchildren and one great grandson. Dorothy was the dear sister of the late Janet Nelson and Marjorie Marini. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton Thursday morning at 11. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be private in  Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
