Charles R Butts, age 93, formerly of Milton , presently a resident of Hopkinton, MA, passed away on July 30, 2019 at Milford Hospital with his loving daughter by his side. Mr Butts served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed on a Navy Air Craft Carrier called the “Shangri-la”. He then met and married and Margaret M Conlon. He attended Suffolk University and upon graduation and owned and operated a Restaurant/Bar establishment. He later found his interest in the Real Estate Business and opened “Butts Real Estate”, working as a Real Estate Developer as well. After 50 years in the business he decided to retire. Mr. Butts served for many years on the board of Directors of “Meeting House Cooperative Bank" and was elected President, CFO and CEO. Postitions he served in for many years. Retiring from his Banking Career, he set sails as a world class Traveler on his 46 foot Sailboat and traveled around the world. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Conlon). He was the devoted father of Margaret M. Farrell and her husband Robert and sons Robert Butts and the late Charles M. Butts, as well as, the cherished grandfather of Timothy and Sean Farrell, Chris, Eric, Nick, Matthew Butts and Jennifer Caruso and her husband Tony Caruso and Great Grandfather of Jake Getchell. He was the brother of Alice Gallagher, Rita Garside and John Butts. Visiting Hours will be held at the Alfred D Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave.,Milton, Monday, August 5, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Gregory, Dorchester, Tuesday morning, August 6th at 10. Interment will follow in Milton Cemetery.
