Arthur F. Clasby, Ret. M.F.D., of Milton, born in NYC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018. He grew up in Milton and was educated in the Milton Schools, Mr. Clasby was a retired 36 year Firefighter of the Milton Fire Department and a Marine Corps veteran. He was also a talented athlete who played football, baseball, and was an excellent basketball player. He had played against the Harlem Globe Trotters where he stole the ball from Meadowlark Lemon twice in one game. Mr. Clasby passed on his love of sports to his grandsons. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Kuznezov) Clasby and devoted father of Regina M. Lemire and her husband Shaun of Monson, and Judy A. Levasseur of Milton as well as the cherished grandfather of Nick and Matt Levasseur and Dante, Seth and Brenna Behan. Mr. Clasby was also the devoted brother of Dorothy Demeke of L.A., Irene Clasby of Nashua, NH, and the late Anne Toomey, Joan Alcala, Helen, David and John Clasby and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton Friday morning, November 2, 2018 at 11. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Milton Fireman's Relief Association, 515 Canton Avenue, Milton, MA 02186.
