Ann T. Spellman, of Quincy, passed away at home surrounded by family on Sept. 11, 2019, after living with breast cancer for more than 20 years. She was 75.
Ann was born in Boston to Ralph and Evelyn Caruso on May 14, 1944. Raised in Dorchester, Ann graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in 1962. After moving out of state, she worked for many years as a customer service representative and administrative assistant for both the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.
After retiring, Ann moved to Tucson, AZ. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed dancing and travelling, especially to Disney World and New York City. She was also a proud grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and granddaughter.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Karyn Spellman of Reisterstown, MD, and Kristine Laut and her husband, Joseph, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren Ryan Harlow of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Nicholas, Madeleine, and Kyle Ash of Reisterstown, MD; and brothers Ralph and Joseph Caruso of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by her chosen family, the Biancos of Quincy, MA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Spellman, and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, from 5-8 p.m., at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, MA.
A service celebrating Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m., at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home. Her burial will be private.
