Desi was raised and educated in Ireland before coming to America, where he became a citizen, served in the United States Army, met and married his beautiful wife and started his large loving family in Jamaica Plain. Desi always had a kind word (“begeez your lookin good“), a small offering of nourishment (“moosha have just bit“), and piece of sound advice (“tiz often you get more with honey than vinegar”) for everyone he came in contact with. He would often appear from around the corner, an impish smile on his face, stand erect as he could and proudly recite an entire poem or limerick he had learned as a child.  His audience would beam back at him in amazement as he completed his speech, in it’s entirety, turn on his heals and disappear again. He was a devoted caregiver and our hearts are heavy although comforted knowing he is now with his beloved wife in the eternal life. Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Tues. at 10:30 AM.
