Daly, Joseph F., passed away peacefully, in the company of his family, on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Born in Boston and a 34 year Quincy resident, he was formerly from Mattapan. A retired printer of Relief Printing, Boston, Mr. Daly was a WW II Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Memphis. He was awarded the WW II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, European African Middle East Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Brogna, Leila, (Jackson), age 88, of Milton & Marshfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a period of failing health on October 26, 2010. Born in Boston, Leila was the daughter of the late Carl & Selma (Fedder) Jackson. Beloved wife of the late Alexander “Sam” Brogna, (retired asst. sports editor of the Boston Herald and Boston Record American.), she leaves two sons; Dennis P. “Moose” Brogna and his wife, Karen of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Paul A. Brogna and his wife, Lucille of Duxbury, MA. She also leaves her loving grandchildren; Paul A. of San Diego, CA and Kristen Brogna and her husband, Bill Taupier of Melrose, MA and her cherished great granddaughter Soren Taupier. She was the sister of the late Thelma MacLeod and aunt of Scott MacLeod of Canton. Leila graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and attended Boston Clerical School. She retired from the Comm. of MA, Dept. of Corrections, after serving as the Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of the Pre-Release Center in Boston. In her earlier days, she was a talented professional dancer and danced for many years in the Keith Circuit in the group called the R.K.O. Lets. In which 12 dancers formed lifelong friendships. Leila and Sam were season ticket holders (front row center court) for the Boston Celtics since 1947 and enjoyed attending all their home games. They also enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas with friends. Leila enjoyed entertaining her family and friends and threw many fine parties, especially during the summers in Marshfield. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Leila will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Mon. morning at 11. Visiting hours will be held 9:30 to 11, prior to the Service. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
